My thanks to the committee for the invitation to judge their clubs show for my first championship appointment. I had a very enjoyable day and had some truly magnificent dogs handle and was very proud of the challenge line up and with my eventual winners.

Veteran Dog  *class view*
1 Ch Tatsanna The Sandman an excellent example of our breed. Superb head with the darkest wide set eyes well placed nose with just the right tilt. Still with a wide full mouth, true teapot handle tail and dripping in coat A level top line to complete the picture.
2 Pekoe The Amber Nectar A nice reach of neck and good tailset giving a well balance outline both standing and on the move.

Minor Puppy Dog
1 Sonomas Show Must Go On And what a show he puts on, a really confident little star that moved round the ring with such style for one so young. Eyes to die for in a typical head, lovely laid back shoulders and topline with the turn of stifle required giving the drive desired.
2 Debeaux Washington Another lovely puppy excellent bone structure and density. Good barrel of rib and strong loin. Good coat texture.
3 Tameron Mr Envy Flashy Black and white with the blackest eyes well set apart in a nice shaped skull, being a little wilful on the day and not showing himself to the best advantage.

1 Lykaths Legolas A very striking well marked Black and white masculine puppy dog. Large round head with a wide square jaw, big black eyes with absolutely no white of eye. Good pignemtation. Good bone, deep broad chest well let down. Moved beautifully round the ring although the front a little loose this should improve with time. Best Puppy Dog
2 Wynele Relization  Testing his handler's patience on the day. A quality puppy with all he needs to have a promising career, stylish and well made with enough length of neck to carry a very proud head.

1 Debeaux Ruff Love Solid Gold cracking outline on this dog both standing and moving. Movement is flowing with rear action drive showing a full pad on both feet good front extension. Good bone and deep chest and well coupled
2 Marpalyn Dutch Gold Smaller all over than 1. Nice out line and moves well. put down in good coat and condition. Nice eyes well placed with correct nose alignment and length.

2 Peekin Charlie Chang-Tu Gold and white finer built than 1 but still with adequate bone. Nice topline and outline. A little reluctant to move.

Novice Dog
1 Peekin Jimmy Choo-Tu Masculine young dog excellent bone with good front deep barrel chest, strong shoulders nice loin length and topline.
2 Wonder Of You Nice Head with good mouth and pleasing expression. Not quite as good a tailset as 1.

Graduate Dog
1 Akasaka Fabumar of Chanikos A bit of a hand full for handler. Profuse coat covering a good spring of rib, lower to the ground never the less well angulated rear allowing for nice movement when he wishes to show it.

1 Mylurose Touch N Wood for Morhenjo A nice dog let down by lack of feathering on a nicely set tail. Outline is good and moved well showing rear pads but needs more coat to finish the picture.
2 Zuthis Licensed To Love for Carlita An entirely different type to 1 but point for point could change places at any time.

1 Tangse Don't Worry Be Happy at Mifcah A truly lovely dog of good size displaying the arrogance our breed is losing. Large round dark eyes that watched me all the time, wide open well placed nostrils in a large round head. Correct topline and balance so well maintained on the move. Still needs a little more finish to attain top honours. Res. C.C.
2 Caserose Mr Toby Jug Another well made and balanced dog in good hard body condition with ample bone in superb coat. A true teapot handle tail. Correct shoulders and for-arm to give good forward extension with a well driven hide quarter showing how to move. Pushed hard for 1st place.

1 Ch Tameron Mr XS  What can one say about this dog that has not been said previously. His record speaks for its self. He is in excellent condition throughout good body .A nice deep chest with barrel rib, strong loin leading to well turned stifle, which is born out in his ease of movement. Appealing dark eyes. Large round head with no hint of coarseness, square well cushioned muzzle over a wide jaw and full dentition. All this set under a coat put down to perfection. C.C. Winner. I was delighted when my co -judge had no hesitation in awarding him Best in Show.
2 Ekland Twice Knightly Full of his own importance on the day and rightly so. Larger than 1. Huge coat over a sound dog with lovely bone, strong well arched neck giving a good head carriage and arrogance.
3 Santosha Last Dancer Deep gold and White dense coat, smaller and lower than 1 and 2.Very pleasing well placed eyes and warm expression. Good nose placement and wide-open nostrils.

I had a great day judging bitches at the Shih Tzu Club of South Wales and Western Counties Championship Show where my co-judges and I were in total agreement that the winner should be the dog Ch Tameron Mr X; RBIS went to the winner of the CC bitch Hashanah Red Or Dead and BPIS to the MPB Matsuba Scandalizer. I'd like to thank the committee for making me feel welcome and for the running of the show in such a relaxed and efficient manner. From a numerically good entry I thought that the overall quality was very high. I've judged the breed in most of the countries of the World and, in my opinion, only in Sweden can one find similar depth of quality. I don't want to seem complacent and I know there are still some problems there and some new ones creeping up but most of the exhibits were of the correct type, good size, correct top lines and coat textures and also mouths and temperaments were excellent. I don't think there has been much improvement in movement since I last judged, short upper arms, weak and narrow hindquarters and lack of muscle tone, all contributed to quite a few poor movements on sight. I found two otherwise very nice bitches with too prominent eyes and a few pinched nostrils.

1 Ch Peekin Sophie Tu 8 yr old g/w. Won the RCC under me last time I judged and considered her for top honours today. Excellent type, well balanced, excellent head, eyes, top line and body. Shown in excellent condition
2 Sarosim Kung Chu 13 yrs old and in excellent condition, excellent head, correct nose placement, excellent body and tail set, seems to be enjoying her day out.

Excellent breed type and overall balance, excellent head and eye, good reach of neck, excellent top line, rib cage and tail carriage, moved soundly and with purpose, shown in excellent condition BPIS and RCC. I shall follow her career with interest
