A full compliment of 23 exhibits
in this very nice group where there was a good depth of quality..
The excellent carpeted ring was quite gigantic in size and was used
to full advantage by most of the exhibitors. I pulled in 7 for final
consideration. The young Akita dog Redwitch I Rest My Case, so very
impressive in profile, lovely for breed type and size, a powerful
mover. The Bulldog Ch. Britishpride Missoni. A very heavy and well
ribbed bitch scoring in head properties. The summer heat doesn’t
suit this breed, but she put in a very creditable performance on the
day. The German Spitz (Klein) Ch. Orion Mirror Image An excellent
representative of the breed. Shown in full coat, and full of his own
importance.
Just let himself down on the final move. The
black miniature Schnauzer Caskayd Cornish Caper, now looking at his
very best and shown in excellent coat and condition. The Standard
Poodle Huffish Another Point of View for Atastar (Imp). A very
elegant black with a superb outline and proud head carriage. A first
class mover. The gorgeous Shar Pei bitch Ch. Bellicose Head Case, an
absolute star on the day, never putting a foot wrong. Beautiful head
properties, ideal body and limbs with nothing overdone. She never
stopped showing and moved to perfection. A very impressive example
of the breed. Last but not least the super Shih Tzu dog Ch. Tameron
Mr Xs, outstanding in presentation and coat, so very sound and well
balanced, arrogant in head and tail carriage and moving in true
breed fashion.
My winner was the Shar Pei, closely followed
by the Shih Tzu in runner-up spot, the Akita was third and the
Poodle fourth.
