Utility group critique

MANCHESTER HAS always had the reputation of being a real dog show rather than an exhibition and the comfort of the Staffordshire Showground lends itself to this image, its location in the centre of the country giving it the added advantage of being readily accessible to most people.

The Utility group is perhaps the most diverse of all the groups and is usually the strongest in quality and the unusual blue carpet made a perfect foil for some of our most exotic breeds.

First was the young Bulldog bitch Davis’ Mystyle All That Jazz Ocobo, another star in the making bearing this famous affix. A really well made junior bitch, lovely from every angle and a superb mover but still looking feminine. Second was the Shih Tzu Willett’s Debeaux Ruff Love, super outline and presentation, moved and showed with great style. Third was the showy Toy Poodle, Bayliss’ Fire and Ice at Kertellas, a really short up black bitch, moved really soundly coming and going and fourth the Apso Watts-Catley’s Zanamop Tiger in the Tank - again a dog with a superb outline moving and showing well.
