Thank you to Paignton for the invite to judge my own breed and to the exhibitors for making the
long journey, the weather was glorious a shade warm for the dogs. A few general remarks over my
40 years in this breed I have had the privilege to have my hands on some of the greater dogs in the
breed. I found the dogs quite poor overall, poor movement and poor bodies with no spring of rib.
Many slab sided dogs. As usual the bitches were far better than the dogs. 4 years ago I mentioned
flat tails and to your credit not one this time. Very nice tea pot tail this time. Correcting faults is
hard but with careful planning it can be done. I also found some pinched nostrils, mouths I do think
they are getting better it is a slow job. More dogs than bitches lacked strong rear action so failed to
show pads. Please remember you are only as good as your bitches.

Class 1699 PD (3 Entries) Abs: 2
1st: Mr J & Mrs J V A GRUGAN Jardhu A Saint He Aint 9 years old g/w. A good masculine head on a well
balanced body in good condition and coat. He has a good side gait with good front action. Just
needs a shade more body which will come and tighten up in hind action.

Class 1700 JD (8 Entries) Abs: 0
1st:  Mr B YOUNG, Ms L & PARADISE Sonoltay Thumbs Up G/w 17 months old. A strong masculine
head. In good body and coat condition and balance. He won this class on his second movement
from all angles, for me he is a little on the large size, but he is a good up and coming dog.
2nd:  Mr M G & Mrs T A HITT Socorro Feel Me Touch Me at Miracey B/w. 12 months old. Masculine head, dark eye and good
mouth. My size of dog. Good front and body and coat condition. Level topline. Teapot tail. Not the
movement of the winner.
3rd: Miss W E REWBURY Ashwenel Likely Story

long in body for me. Sound in movement.

1st:  Mr A P & Mrs C R GARRY Rygar Time and Thyme Again Solid/g. A really honest dog. Not overdone
anywhere, coming into his own. A nice masculine head on a balanced body and strong hindquarters.
Very sound from all angles and a spring of rib and width across the back as all Shih Tzu should be.
Pleased to give him RCC.
2nd:Mrs S PENNEY Fillipers Take A Chance On Me at Longdorham  B/w. A good
head, very showy, good overall shape. Just needs time to body. Good side gait, would like him
firmer in his hind action.

masculine head in good body and hard condition. Plenty of coat. Never put a foot wrong on the
move. Kept his topline on the move, could go all day. CC.
2nd: Miss D McINTYRE Bakalo Shayna Punim at Shanitau G/w. A nice size. Good masculine head. Another honest dog. Well balanced, in good body and coat
condition. Unlucky to meet the winner. Sound in movement.

1st: Mrs A M BILLSON Sarsuki Principle Boy at Shanjora B/w. This was a poor class for Open dog. A
good head, overall picture is of an older type. Compact, not a bad body. Good coat and condition.
Nice tea pot tail and level topline. Sound in movement, but not the drive of my Limit dog.
2nd:  Mrs G MOSTON Hiona Fly Me To The Moon G/w. The same remarks of the winner applies. I just preferred
the hind action of winner.

shape. A lovely feminine head with a sweet expression. Good topline and body. Very sound in
movement and good side gait.
2nd: Mesdames CARTER, M H & LEIGH, S M Gladmin Shakia G/w 8 months old. Another
nice overall shape. Full of beans. Good head, front, body and hindquarters. Sound from all angles.
Just needs to settle.

shape and she is a picture standing, and is so sound on the move. A joy to go over at the moment
she is between coats. When that comes she will be made up without any trouble. A very nice bitch.

balanced in good body and coat. Front action good. Needs to firm up in hind action.

move. Kept topline. The presentation could be better.

Compact with a very nice overall shape. Never put a foot wrong a full reaching gait and sound. CC

Again well made, great on the move and very sound. On the day just not the bloom of the winner.
