Shih Tzu Club of Scotland 22/10/2005
judge: Ian Millar
Apologies for my last-minute arrival. Congratulations on the
standard of presentation on such a
nasty, wet day. I found a lot of close hind action and very few dogs with any
muscular
development to speak of. Overall, however, there were some quality exhibits on
view.
DOGS -
MP (3)
1 Brown's Rossvale True Destiny. A pleasing baby with good head
properties, large, dark
eyes and a typical expression. He is built on correct lines with a deep chest,
level back and good
bone. Not a big lad but lots to like about him. Needs to settle on the move and
tired in the
challenge for B. Puppy. In good coat and carries himself well with good
tail-carriage.
2 Hildith's Mar Murl Chu Yuan Tzu. An outgoing babe who presented a balanced
outline with good head
properties, a level back and correctly carried tail. Perhaps a little more width
of muzzle would
enhance the overall picture but his skull is broad and round with good ear-set
and a typical
expression. Moved firmly in this class.
3 Adams' Jardhu Jeeves.
P (2,1)
1 M Murl Chu Yuan Tzu.
J (3,1)
1 M Murl Chu Yuan Tzu.
2 Allan's Shirshaun Flash Gordon at Kilbrogan. My most regretted
decision of the day. Lovely B/W dog in glorious coat and showing with animation.
He has an
attractive male head with particularly good, dark eyes, a round skull and a
nicely arched neck. He
is sturdy with a good depth of chest, well-boned limbs and a level back. Needs
to firm up at the
front. Sorry I couldn't do him better!
N (6,1)
1 Shirshaun Dirty Den. An appealing R/W dog whose
head and expression drew the eye. He carried his head on a nicely arched neck
and looked at you
with large, dark eyes and a typical oriental expression. His construction is
basically sound and he
had some muscle in his thighs. Did just enough on the move.
2 Mar Murl Chu Yuan Tzu.
3 S Flash
Gordon at K.
L (4,1)
1 Cooke's Thaisu Amigo. Full-coated B/W who presented a typical outline,
with overall balance. He moved with purpose, if a mite close behind and he was a
touch light in
condition but he carried himself well and with a dash of Shih Tzu arrogance. The
head is
attractive, although a little more width would enhance and he has very dark
eyes. His chest is
deep, elbows tight, back level, the thighs broad and the tail well-carried. An
honest dog. B.D. and
B.O.S.
2 Allan's Permac Firecracker at Kilbrogan Sh CM. Sturdy, solid gold dog with a
wealth of
abundant coat. He, too, had a balanced outline with a dead level back-line,
teapot-handle tail and
good bone. His head is strong but in proportion, with a large, dark eye and good
ear-set. Moved
well with some reach at the front. Reserve B.D.
3 McWilliam's Santosha Red Raider at Shirshaun.

BITCHES -
MP (5,1)
1 Cooke's Thaisu Song Remains The Same. A very
appealing little girl with a pretty, balanced head with very large, dark eyes
and good skull to
muzzle proportions. She is well put together and showed with some verve after a
little anxiety at
the beginning. A mite close behind at this stage but she has time. In lovely
coat and with a look of
quality about her. B.P.
2 Brown's Rossvale Miss Scarlett. Another promising pup who was a close
contender for the top spot. She also has a sweet, balanced head and all the
constructional
essentials with good shoulder placement and firm hindquarters. Carries the
promise of a good
coat and with a touch of glamour, too. Moved well.
3 Hatton's Thaisu Whole Lotta Love. Complete a nice trio.
J (1)
1 Paterson's Yakee Show Me Heaven. Pretty bitch in excellent coat. I
liked her
head with breadth to the skull, good muzzle to skull ratio and dark, expressive
eyes. Her body is
firm with good lay-back of shoulder, deep chest and level topline. Moved
briskly. Typical young
Shih Tzu bitch.
N (2,1)
1 McWilliam's Prengast Daisy Girl at Shirshaun. Pretty pale G/W bitch
with
overall good proportions, a level back with sufficient length to give a balanced
outline and well-
carried tail. Her head is pleasing but arguably a larger eye would enhance her
expression. Not
sure if her coat is coming or going.
PG (7,2)
1 Waterson's Zaria's Designer Genes of Capali. I was
very torn between this bitch and 2. They were two different types and I finally
opted for this
bitch's overall balance and her power on the move. She has an attractive if
slightly strong head
with large, dark eyes, good nose-placement, wide mouth and round skull. Her
outline is balanced,
her shoulders well-laid and her chest deep and full. In full coat, beautifully
presented. A very
useful bitch.
2 Paterson's Yakee Cause A Stir Sh CM. A slightly taller G/W bitch with a look
of
quality. Her head was carried proudly on an arched neck and her expression,
enhanced by dark
eyes, good head proportions and well-placed ears, was positively aristocratic.
Overall, she was
balanced in outline and well-constructed but managed to look a fraction rangy on
the move. A
quality exhibit.
3 Adams and Grugan's HII Hazel With Jardhu.
L (6,2)
1 Cooke's Thaisu Cosmic
Girl. A good moving bitch who appealed the minute she entered the ring and then
somehow lost
interest and faded a bit. Nevertheless, her qualities are obvious with a typical
head-piece with a
warm, feminine expression, a very balanced outline with a firm, level topline
and good tail-set and
a beautiful, rich coat. Very pretty bitch.
2 McWilliam's Cradarr Sheer Magic at Shirshaun. A slightly
reluctant lass who did just enough on the move and no more. I liked her head and
expression,
with all the essentials and she was fundamentally well constructed, giving a
balanced outline. She
carries a wealth of coat which must be difficult to manage and I just wish she
had put in a little
more effort in the ring today.
3 Adams' Jardhu Mai Ling.
O (5,3)
1 Brown's Rossvale She's Bewitching. A pale gold bitch with a wealth of
beautifully prepared coat. Her head and expression were most attractive with
almost a look of disdain, yet not lacking in warmth or animation. She
has a deep, broad chest, firm elbows, strong loins and ample bone. The whole
outline was most
typical, topped with a teapot-handle tail and she moved cleanly and with power.
A quality girl who
took B.B. and B.I.S.
2 Gibbon's Ch Cabbala Needs No Frills at Harrima. A very glamorous bitch
whom I have admired before. Differed in head from the winner but has all the
requirements of a
broad skull, black, well-placed nose with large nostrils, particularly large,
dark eyes and a wide
muzzle. Her topline is level, the loin firm and the chest deep with some
lay-back of rib. Her coat
was beautifully presented with a flowing top-coat although her undercoat was a
touch thin. Did
not detract from an overall attractive bitch. Moved with enthusiasm but I made
her a fraction
close behind today although she had a good reach at the front. Reserve B.B. and
R.B.I.S.
SP. O SOLID COLOUR (3,1)
1 P Firecracker at K. SP.
O B/W (1)
1 S Flash Gordon at K. SP.
OG/W (5,1)
1 C Sheer Magic at S.
2 HII Hazel With J. A neat little bitch in good coat. Moved enough and
no more but is built on typical lines with a large rib-cage and well-laid
shoulders. Overall,
presented a balanced picture.
3 M Murl Chu Yuan Tzu.
SP. O A.O.C. (1)
1 S Dirty Den.

SP. O PET/PET TRIM (5,1)
I was anxious about this class but enjoyed it.
1 Bruce's Dragon Ockie Night Skye. A pretty little B/W bitch who moved out very
well.
Has a sweet head and expression with lovely dark eyes. In very nice coat, well
presented.
2 McWilliam's Cradarr Angels Delight. 5 year old G/W bitch who is a nice shape
overall but tends to
run up at the back a little. Has a typical expression even with a hair-cut. A
bit reluctant on the
move.
3 McNeely's Mar Murl Mel Shant. A happy young man with lovely big dark eyes and
a gaily
waving tail. Correct bodv prortions and a powerful mover. Loves life!
