My thanks to organisers for a very pleasing appointment and to exhibitors for a lovely entry. The exceedingly hot weather had caused the grass to become very dry and coarse, with the result that many Shih Tzu did not move as well as I felt they were able. In general I was very was pleased with the depth of quality of exhibits, and presentation was first rate.

Minor Puppy Dog
1st: VANITONIA ROOSTER BOOSTER 6 mth baby parti. Nicely balanced for his young age. Still needs to mature further in body, but this of course will come with time. Good skull; lovely eye and nose placement. Well laid shoulder. Correct tail set. Moved well fore and aft with super profile movement too.
2nd: MATSONIC ALL OF A DREAM 7mth b/white. Well made body with pleasing ribbing and loin. Super shoulder and upper arm. Pleasing tail. Moved well.
3rd: SUPERLION GOLD FINCH
Res: ONIMUSHA HEAVEN KNOWS

Puppy Dog
1st: ETHELSMEAD BILLY ELLIOT B/wh with just the right amount of bone substance for his 9 mths. Super expression. Teeth still developing but look promising, and jaw line correct. Good chest with typical breadth. Well laid shoulders. Beautifully balanced for his age, with a little growth left in his forelegs. Good coat quality and lovely tail set. Moved soundly. I think this will be one to follow with interest. BPIB and delighted to see him placed in the Puppy Group.
2nd: EASY RIDER AT HUXLOR Superb bite. Good masculine head and expression with lovely eye. Pleasing shoulder and good ribbing. Beautifully presented. Moved soundly coming and going.
3rd: KING JOHN

Junior Dog
1st:WEATSOM TAKES ONE TO KNOW ONE AT SONOLTAY Sound moving gold/wh. Coat quality coming through. Pleasing eye and typical stop, with nice tip-tilted nose. Well placed shoulder and good rib. Sufficient substance throughout.
2nd:BELLWAYCHARM HERE AND NOW I liked this young man but he didn’t put quite his all into his movement, though enough to earn him second place. Pleasing expression. Good shoulder. Correct ribbing and loin. Good topline. Soundly made both fore and aft.
3rd: DALTRICIA ARGONAUT

Post Graduate Dog
1st: ANIBEES BEE-YOND BELIEF imp Lovely head and expression on this high quality gold/wh boy. Super shoulder and upper arm. Level back, good ribbing and strong loin. Typically constructed fore and aft, moving with style and drive. Well set tail. In good coat of correct quality. ResDCC
2nd: PASSIONELLE WAY OUT WEST Masculine b/wh with good head and expression. Correct skull shape. Ample bone. Good tail. Did not move so well as I would have expected from his sound construction, but the coarse, dry grass has done few favours today.
3rd: ZUTHIS FACT NOT FICTION AMONG CARLITA

Limit Dog
1st: WEATSOM BORN & BRED Beautifully balanced white/black in excellent coat of good texture. Lovely skull and foreface with excellent eye. Soundly and typically constructed both fore and aft. Good topline and super tail set. Moved soundly displaying the true character of the breed. DCC and BOB This I understand a third and crowning CC, so very well deserved.
2nd: TAMERON MR KENZO Gold/wh with good skull shape and eye. Very sound rib and loin. Sufficient width of forechest and very sound hindquarters. Moved with good drive.
3rd: SOCORRO FEEL ME TOUCH ME AT MIRACEY
Res: PEKOE SHARP SHOOTER

Open Dog
1st: DALTRICIA ZELOS Pleasing skull and eye with good pigment. Good coat quality. Pleasing shoulder and upper arm with correct ribbing and loin. Good topline. Nice, strong hindquarters. Moved with confidence.
2nd: MIFCAHS CATCH ME IF Y CAN Masculine young fellow in good coat. Not yet 17 months old and still needs to mature in body.

Minor Puppy Bitch
1st: PASSIONELLE MY WAY Highly promising gold/wh with an abundance of good qualities. Soundly made all through with good shoulder, correct rib and sound hindquarters. Delightful expression, with correct skull and eye. Super mouth. Moves with both drive and style.
2nd: MONSCHAU JUST LILY close up to one above in this strong class, but my winner just scored on expression. Beautifully made in body with sound construction fore and aft. Good tail. Moved well.
3rd: TSANTHA HAPPY GO LUCKY

Puppy Bitch
1st: CHELHAMA LEADING LIGHT Striking red/wh parti with pleasing expression and nice bite. Good shoulder and correct forehand; indeed well made throughout, moving with confidence and drive.
2nd: SHANTRIONNA FAIRY MAIDEN Just 6 mth as still showing her youth. Good head, expression and eye. Sound forehand and good rear.
3rd: MARPLALYN PORCELLINA

Junior Bitch
1st: WEATSOM REPEAT PRESCRIPTION B/wh only 13 mths old and oozing with quality. Beautifully made with excellent construction fore and aft, lovely shoulder and upper arm. Pleasing skull with typical eye and good mouth. Super balance all through. BCC and fascinated later to hear she is a repeat mating of my BOB winner.
2nd: RETA CREST OF A WAVE AT HUXLOR Beautifully presented red/wh in excellent coat. Very sound throughout but I would have appreciated just a touch more substance all through. Moved well.
3rd: WYNELE HELLO DOLLY AT KADAZ

Post Graduate Bitch
1st: GLADMIN SHAKIA Soundly made gold with good fore and hind construction. Good topline. Good skull with correct eye and pleasing expression.
2nd: SUPERLION REDI TO GO Very soundly constructed all through, but I feel she would have benefited from carrying just a little less weight. Very pleasing coat quality. Good eye, skull, head and expression. Moved well.
3rd: SAROSIM I'M A BONUS
Res: TSANTHA SUGAR PLUM FAIRY

Limit Bitch
1st: PEKOE PATENT PENDING Brindle/wh with lovely head and expression. Good neck and shoulder. Typically constructed fore and aft, with good ribbing. Pleasing tail set. Excellent coat texture.
2nd: WEATSOM HEAVENS ABOVE Quite a different balance from one above and yet it was a close decision in this class. Another with lovely head and skull and a nice mouth. Good ribbing. Super coat. Such a very feminine all black lady, but she didn’t quite give her all on the move.
3rd: SAROSIM TRIGGER'S PRIDE

Open Bitch
1st: KANBA BUSY BEE AT TAMERON Feminine b/wh lady. Well balanced and moved extremely well. Good eye and skull. Sound fore and hind construction. Beautiful coat and excellent tail set. ResBCC
2nd: KADAZ MY LADY TAMARIND Another b/wh, soundly made with typical construction fore and aft. Pleasing expression. Good tail set. In lovely coat and moved well.
3rd: ANYANG CHINESE WHISPER
